Selina and Darin met in Cairns in 2015, and both embarked on their law degrees at the same time, united by a deep love of the law and an even deeper passion for helping people.
However, their early careers reflected the typical image of lawyers - working in high-rise offices, donning suits and jackets, and billing in six-minute increments.
It wasn’t long before they realised that the traditional approach to law left many clients feeling intimidated and fearful, reluctant to sit across the table during consultations.
This disconnect sparked a desire to forge a different path - one that prioritised genuine connection and understanding over the formalities of conventional legal practice.
​Having both owned businesses and experienced the highs and lows of life, they recognised that they were just like their clients, but with a unique body of knowledge to share.
With this vision in mind, BestLife Legal was born.

Selina created the firm to bridge the gap between legal expertise and real-world understanding.

Darin later joined Selina on the BestLife team to help her bring the law to Queenslanders differently.

We want Queenslanders to feel at ease when addressing their legal challenges, approaching it as simply as a routine health check-up at the doctor’s office. Meet Selina, our legal practice director, who brings a wealth of legal expertise and a deep passion for helping people.
With her own experience as a business owner, Selina understands the unique challenges that entrepreneurs face, making her an invaluable resource for our clients.
Armed with a Bachelor of Laws with Distinction, a Master of Applied Law (Estate Planning), and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with Distinction, Selina possesses a unique blend of skills that enables her to connect with clients on a personal level.
With experience in family law, property transactions and estate planning, as well as business advisory and structures, you can rely on Selina's comprehensive support for a diverse range of legal needs.
As a mother of two teenage children, she cherishes family time and understands the importance of nurturing relationships.

With over a decade of experience in the legal industry, Selina has worked in both Brisbane and Cairns, now sharing her time between both cities and gaining valuable insights along the way.

Not only is he a qualified tiler and a talented musician, but Darin also has a background as an ex-butcher and dabbles in photography, showcasing his creative side alongside his legal expertise.
Darin holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Agriculture, equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of both legal and agricultural matters.
His many years as a tiler give him valuable insights into the trades and business landscape, making him a one-of-a-kind lawyer who truly understands the challenges faced by his clients in the industry.
Raised on a property outside of Toowoomba, he prefers the charm of regional living over the hustle of the city, allowing him to stay connected to his roots.
Passionate about helping people navigate their legal issues, Darin loves the law and is committed to providing approachable, practical support to all his clients.
